[h]Birmingham is preparing a weekend of mad traffic.[/h]
On Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of July 2011, Birmingham Airport (EGBB) will host it\'s 5th annual Mid Summer Madness Event. Birmingham Airport will be fully staffed from 1000z - 2000z on both days.
Saturday 23rd July will see EGBB host a Real-Ops event. All the real world flights EGBB handled between 1000z-2000z on a recent Saturday can be booked. A diverse range of flights are available to book, from short hops to Scotland, Northern Ireland and Eire, to Long Haul to the USA and the Middle East. Please click here to view and book flights.
The next day, on Sunday 24th July, EGBB will host an overload event. A mammoth amount of arrivals and departures were handled by EGBB on a recent Sunday. These flights have been compressed into a 7 hour 30 minute time window! With an arrival or departure every 2 minutes, you can be sure of busy skies around EGBB. All pilots are invited to take part. Please help us celebrate the 5th anniversary of this fantastic event by booking as many flights as you can. There is no limit to the number of flights you can book. You\'ll see there\'s hundreds of flights to choose from!
If you can\'t find a route you\'d like to fly, then non-event traffic is also more than welcome. Similarly, if you don\'t have the aircraft type for your booking, you can fly your route in any aircraft you like.
Pilot Information:
The transition altitude at EGBB is 6000 feet. The initial climb on all SIDs at EGBB is 6000 feet. There with be a continuous voice and text ATIS for EGBB; please report the information you have on board upon initial contact with an EGBB controller.
